Quick start you BF2142 game

Well not anymore, this method will speed the boot up time by two thirds.

First thing to do is stop those movies from loading and running taking vast amount of memory and the all important TIME.
find your BF2142 directory, this is mine and we will use this from now on in all examples

H:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Battlefield 2142

browse to the sub folder \mods\bf2142\Movies now rename the following files

Dice.bik to Dice._bik
EA._bik to EA._bik
Intro._bik to Intro._bik

Leave the other two file intact, Legal.bik and titan_tutorial.bik
That's the movies taken care of, just in case PunkBuster watches them do not remove/delete them from the folder.

Now right click your BF2142 icon or right click the name in the programs menu and select properties, you will see a path to your file in the textbox next to the word 'TARGET'
it will look something like the following

"H:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Battlefield 2142\BF2142.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1

Now you need to add the following start up parameters to it

+szx 1280 +szy 1024 +eaAccountName YourAccount +eaAccountPassword YourPassword +soldierName Born59

'+szx' and '+szy' are custom screen resolutions, these are the ones I use, if you want to keep the ones already set, then do not include these settings.

'+eaAccountName' this is your EA account name, and you will need your password after the '+eaAccountPassword'

+soldierName this will be the soldier you want to use when you enter a game (mine as you can see is Born59)

Now if you have more then one solider name then just copy this desktop icon when you have finished and change the soldier name also renaming the icon so you know what icon is what soldier.

when you have finished the whole string should look like the following except your BF2142 path and account details.

"H:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Battlefield 2142\BF2142.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1280 +szy 1024 +eaAccountName youraccountname +eaAccountPassword yourpassword +soldierName yoursoldiername

NOTE - one word of warning, you must enter the settings exactly, they are case sensitive and will not work if you mix the case up.
